South African Premier Soccer league, Black Leopards has continue to reinforce their squad before the start of the new season by signing Nigerian striker Abdulwaheed Afolabi from Premier League side, Niger Tornadoes.
His business manager, Mohamed Lawal confirmed this. Lawal also represents tough tackling holding midfielder, Solomon Okpako and striker, Gbolahun Salami who have both signed for Mamelodi Sundowns.
Afolabi is likely to team-up with Leopards hard running striker, Rodney Ramagalela, who is known for running at defenders and watching them helplessly try in vain to prevent him from making a beeline for goals.
Afolabi recently returned to Nigeria from second division side, BV Veendam in Holland where he had gone for trials. While there he featured for Veendam against FC Groningen and Cambuur Leeuwarden in friendly matches.
However, the Dutch could not offer him a contract. Although Nigerian fellow professional side Sunshine Stars were also interested in him, Afolabi considered rejoining Niger Tornadoes before he was lured to the South African league by Lawal.
