Nigeria: Ondo Commissioner’s Son Arraigned For Robbery

Two Nigerian university students, Adetope Solagbade, 22, and Odunayo Omodara, 21, were arraigned before a Chief Magistrate Court for armed robbery on Thursday in Akure, Ondo State. One of them is the son of the Commissioner for Natural Resources in that state.

They were arrested by the anti-robbery squad on July 5, charged with four counts of armed robbery and have since been remanded in prison until September 2, when the case would come up for hearing. Report says the suspects attacked their victims with dangerous weapons. They were alleged to have attacked one Prof. Joseph Borede, stealing his valuable items and cash.

The two were arrested with cutlasses, chisel, jack knife, mask and other dangerous weapons.

They allegedly stole one HP laptop computer belonging to someone named Falodun Ayodeji and other items.
