Lagos State Driver Institute in collaboration with the Lekki Concession Company, LCC, has commenced training for commercial drivers along the Lekki-Epe axis. This is because the government is worried about the high rate of accidents on roads in the state.
The training is aimed at ensuring road discipline to help bring orderliness and safety of lives and properties along the Lekki axis.
The Managing director of LCC, Mr Opuiyo Oforiokuma said the company was sponsoring 200 drivers for the program, adding that this would be handled in batches of 50.
Chief Executive Officer of the Institute, Mr. Peter Oyedokun, while addressing participants during the flag off of the training in the premises of the Institute at Epe, said the move was to help bring orderliness and safety of lives and properties along the Lekki axis of the state.
He charged them to take the training seriously, stressing that the government has invested in quality facilities and training materials that would teach them how best to use the road for the safety of others.
