Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, GNPC, has signed a memorandum of understanding, MOU, with Saudi Arabian firm Petro-Saudi International to jointly explore, develop and produce oil, oilfield services, infrastructure, national capacity building, and facilities development in Ghana.
The MOU was signed at GNPC’s head office in Tema. CEO Nana Boakye Asafu – Adjaye signed for GNPC while his counterpart, CEO Tarek Obaid, signed for PetroSaudi.
GNPC CEO said, “For now, it is a broad MOU for collaboration and we are going to work out the specific areas to be covered and all the other details.”
Ghana began pumping oil last December from its Jubilee oilfield, operated by UK energy company Tullow Oil.
PetroSaudi is an international oil and gas company from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
