Nigeria: Ebenezer Obey’s Wife Dies

The veteran Nigerian musician turned preacher, Evangelist (Dr.) Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, MFR, lost his wife, Evangelist Juliana Obey-Fabiyi on Tuesday.

Juliana Obey Fabiyi, aged 67, recently returned from a medical trip to an Indian health centre, but was readmitted at LASUTH where she died in the early hours of Tuesday.

She was a successful business woman and poultry farmer, born to the Onifade’s family on March 23, 1945. She got married to Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi in 1963.

She is survived by her husband, Evang. Obey Fabiyi (MFR), children and several grand children.

Obey, while receiving sympathizers at his Ikeja home today, referred to the scriptures specifically in Psalm 48:14 ‘For this God is our God for ever and ever. He will be our guide even unto death’.

Meanwhile a condolence register has been opened at the Ikeja residence of the deceased and at the headquarters of Decross Gospel Mission, DGM, where one of the children is the District Overseer and Senior Pastor.

Burial arrangement is yet to be announced by the family.

The secretary to the Ogun state government, Mr Taiwo Adeoluwa, pledged government’s support for the Obey family in their hour of need. He said this when he visited the family at their residence.
