President Goodluck Jonathan Wednesday morning sacked Mrs. Farida Waziri, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The president has also named Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde as the Acting Chairman/Chief Executive of the commission.
Before this new position, Lamorde was an officer of the Nigerian Police Force. He was also among the effective team of the former chairman of the commission, Mr. Nuhu Ribadu.
Until he took over as acting chairman of the commission, Lamorde, had served as Acting Chairman of EFCC before Mrs. Waziri assumed duty at the Commission in 2008 was the Director of Operations of the EFCC.
Dr. Reuben Abati noted that Lamorde’s appointment was to take effect immediately.
