Egypt Deports 93 Ethiopians On Their Way To Israel

Authorities in Egypt said Sunday the government has deported 93 Ethiopians who illegally entered Egypt with hopes of crossing the Sinai desert into Israel.

According to the airport official, 42 Ethiopians were deported on Sunday and another 51 were sent back on Saturday.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the migrants crossed into Egypt from its southern border with Sudan two weeks ago.

The increasingly dangerous passage through Egypt and heavier restrictions in Israel has done little to deter new arrivals who are fleeing desperate situations.
