Egypt: Gov’t Launches New Measures To Facilitate Life For Citizens

Prime Minister Dr. Kamal El Ganzouri has launched a new package of measures to facilitate life for citizens and to unleash faltering production capacities. Dr. Ganzouri government also asked citizens to give it a two-month time to satisfy their legitimate demands.

Fayza Abul Naga, the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation said the government is working to carry out the current five-year plan which aims to cultivate 3.2 million feddans of which 500,000 are ready for cultivation this fiscal year in Toshka and East Uwainat.

She asked all citizens to give the government a chance to redress the big budget deficit.

She said all individual demands are legitimate but can not be met in one batch adding supporters of these interests should not stop work, close streets and interrupt public interests until their demands are fulfilled.

For his part, Minister of Electricity Hassan Younis affirmed that there is no intention to increase electricity prices.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mahmoud Eissa, the Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade said that the Central Bank of Egypt and 15 other banks will finance 1,500 faltering factories to re-operate them.
