Samuel Eto’o Launches His Own Mobile Network In Cameroon

Samuel Eto’o, the Cameroonian soccer star has launched his own mobile phone network in his country.

The mobile network, Set’Mobile, was launched on Thursday in Douala in the presence of the Indomitable Lions captain.

“Set” stands for Samuel Etoo and the mobile network becomes the third in the country, after Orange and MTN. It has a mobile penetration still under 20%.

The mobile network, with a capital base of 100 million CFA, hopes to impact on the socio-economic development of Cameroon.

According to Charles Gueret, the general manager, Set’Mobile will drop the cost of calls, while offering services such as sms and internet access.

Samuel Etoo is currently the highest paid footballer in the world and plays as a striker for Russian team Anzhi Makhachkala. He is also the current captain of the Cameroon national team.

This is great. Mr. Samuel Etoo is a real Nationalist. I love the fact that he has successfully push part of his dreams through not withstanding the bottlenecks that move alongside with the realization of this kind of giant dream. We are impatiently waiting for SetMobile to come and deliver us from the mess of telecommunication in Cameroon. Long live to Mr Samuel Etoo for his relentless efforts towards the development of this peace loving Country.

This is the most progressive Cameroonian I have seen. He is an example of what a forward looking Cameroonian should be.
