Nigeria: Court Orders Arrest Of PDP Acting National Chairman, Others

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has on Friday issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the PDP acting National Chairman Abdulahi Baraje and three others for failing to appear before it to answer contempt charges preferred against them by the executive of the Ogun State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

The other three include the National Vice chairman of the PDP in the Southwest, Tajudeen Oladipo; the National Legal Adviser, Olusola Oke and the National Organizing Secretary, Uche Secondus.

Justice Charles Archibong, who gave the order at the resumed hearing of the matter on Friday said Mr Baraje should be brought before him to face contempt proceedings in respect of the crisis rocking the Ogun State chapter of the party.

The court had on Tuesday summoned the PDP leaders to appear before it in respect of a contempt proceedings brought against them.

The Justice also declared the Dayo-Soremi led executive as the authentic PDP executive in Ogun state.
