The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, on Friday presented a letter of automatic employment to younger brothers of two slain officers that the extremist sect, Boko Haram killed in the recent attack in Kano.
The letters were presented to Shamsuddeen Da’u Idris and Muhammad Ali Jibrin at a brief ceremony in the State Command.
The state’s comptroller of Immigration, Dr Emmanuel Ikeadi said the gesture was approved by the President and Commander in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, following the recommendation by the minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro.
According to him, the idea was approved by the Comptroller General of the Immigration, Madam Chinyere, after it was tabled before it for consideration by the state command of the service.
Dr. Ikeadi said: “We want to honour dedication and patriotism to service. That is why the President approved that we should offer you automatic employment.”
He also advised the new officers to proceed to Abuja and do the necessary documentation.
