The Boko Haram sect has on Thursday attacked Kano again as reports say unknown gunmen riding on motorcycles opened fire on some police officers on patrol in Kano metropolis killing two of them instantly.
The incident occurred along BUK road opposite the fire service station.
The spokesperson of the police, Mr. Majiya said: “Our officers on routine patrol were attacked by some gunmen riding on three motorcycles who opened fire on the officers.
“There was an exchange of fire but unfortunately two of our officers lost their lives, while two others who sustained gunshot wounds are receiving treatment at the hospital.”
He further said officers from the command immediately cordoned off the area and fifteen persons have so far been arrested and are being interrogated.
