The location was Lagos Street by Kazaure Road where a box was said to have been strategically placed on the side of the road. Security officials hurriedly barricaded the area, leading to closure for about 20 minutes before a youth went and picked up the box. To the surprise of hundreds, the box neither exploded nor did anything happen to him.
While everyone breathed a sigh of relief, onlookers said the incident was a reflection of how nervous and vigilant Kaduna dwellers have become at the same time. The city has been the focus of violent assaults by the Boko Haram militia in recent months that have left many people dead and a lot of property destroyed.
