Nigerian R&B-pop singer, Tiwa Savage recently landed a multi-million naira endorsement deal with world renowned soft drinks giant-PEPSI. She becomes the first ever artiste in the whole of Africa to be signed by Pepsi.
The endorsement deal was sealed with Tiwa’s current management 323 Entertainment headed by Tunji ‘T-Billz’ Balogun about a month ago. The deal sees the 32-year-old follow the likes of pop singer Ashionye who was endorsed as the face of ‘Pepsi Light’ back in 2007.
‘Yea, the deal is true, I can confirm that but that’s all I can say for now’, Balogun told NET in a phone conversation. Balogun later explained he signed a non-disclosure agreement with the parties involved. ‘I’m still surprise how the news got out so soon‘, he added.
She joins mega-rap star Nicki Minaj, who also recently landed her multi-million dollar deal with Pepsi. While, Nicki is the new international face of Pepsi, while Tiwa is the African face.
She joins the league of international stars who have gotten such endorsements in the past such as Michael Jackson, Ray Charles, Janet Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Aishwariya Rai-ex Miss World and Amitabh Bachchan in India.
