According to the Police First Information Report (FIR), the accused committed the offence on May 10.
The FIR revealed that the father of the victim, one Alhaji Abdullahi Salihu, went to the Nasarawa Gwong Police Station and reported that the accused raped his daughter at about 5.00 p.m.
The report further stated that the accused and the victim’s parents reside at Rikkos area of Jos.
The report disclosed that the accused lured the minor into his room with a biscuit and had canal knowledge of her thereby committing an offence that is contrary to section 283 of the Penal Code.
When the charges were read to the accused, he pleaded not guilty and applied to the court for bail.
The prosecutor, Mr Gokwat Ibrahim, objected to the bail application on the grounds that the medical report of the minor was yet to be received from the hospital by the police.
Ibrahim said that the offence allegedly committed by the accused was severe and added that the suspect may tamper with police investigation if left off the hook.
The presiding Judge, Alh. Mustapha Hassan, who rejected the bail plea, ordered that the accused be remanded adjourned the case to July 5, for further mention. (NAN)
