The new Miss World Kenya was crowned both by the outgoing Miss World Kenya Susan Anyango and the reigning Miss World, Ivias Sarcos.
The star-studded event which also featured world-renowned Kenyan model, Ajuma Nasenyana, was well organised with pump and glamor; the event’s main sponsor this year being East Africa Breweries through their new brand Snapp.
“Snapp fruit alcoholic drink represents the modern classy lady. We are so proud to be a part of this event,” Said East Africa Breweries CEO, Seni Adetu.
Miss Shamim had an upper hand for the title before the winner was yet to be announced. Her project won the award for most viable project. In her campaign, she tends to alleviate the drug problem that is a major issue at the Coast where she is a resident.
“The drug problem is a burning issue especially at the Coast. I want to follow it up hand in hand with NACADA to fight it,” Said the beauty after winning the crown.
Miss World Kenya Shamim was all smiles as she posed for the cameras. A cabin crew student and member of Coast Swimming club, Shamim describes the experience as unbelievable when Terry Mungai, Ashley’s Franchise CEO, read out her name as the winner of the coveted crown.
“I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t think I would make it this far. Every eviction I was always nervous and scared that I was going to be kicked out of the competition. But here I am. I am thankful to God.” Shamim recounted.
As part of winning, Shamim got a cheque of Sh1 million and an Insurance cover ranging into millions. A car which will be fuelled all through will also be provided by Ashley’s.
