Keep Insulting Me On Social Media, That Can’t Stop Me – Jonathan

Dr. Jonathan President Goodluck Jonathan has urged those insulting him on social media not to relent, even as he asserted that no amount of insult would deter him from doing all within his powers to enhance the development of the country.

He insisted that his reason for bestowing the second highest national honour on president and chief executive of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote was due to his laudable contributions to the nation’s economy.

He stated this in Obajana,in the western axis of Kogi State during the commissioning of line 3 and ground breaking ceremony of line 4 of Dangote Cement plant.

Jonathan said aside Dangote, ten other Nigerians were bestowed with the second highest honour, even as he insisted that none of them had contributed five per cent of what the president of Dangote Group had done for the nation.

He posited that the industrialist has engaged over 20,000 Nigerians thereby stimulating the economy. According to the President, the commissioning of the 5.25 million tonnes per annum line was a turning point in the nation’s desire for self sufficiency in cement production.

He added that the positive development has placed the country as a leading manufacturer of cement in the world, and congratulated Alhaji Dangote for the landmark achievement. He expressed the commitment of his administration to providing the enabling environment for the private sector to contribute to nation building. He noted that the backward integration policy of the federal government was yielding the desired result and charged other well meaning Nigerians to emulate the industrialist in taking the country to the next level.

He further disclosed that government was poised to establish a cement technology institute, in partnership with the private sector, which the president of Dangote Group would head, adding that the ground breaking ceremony would be performed next month.

Also speaking at the occasion, Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State noted that the progress made in Obajana was an accumulated growth for the nation, saying the government and people of the state were excited by the development.

He further called on the federal government to complete the Ajaokuta Steel Project and National Iron Ore Mining Company,Itakpe,in view of their strategic importance to the nation.

The president of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, earlier in a remark, commended the federal government for its backward integration policy, which he said had enabled them to realise their set objective. He disclosed that with the new third cement production line, the capacity of Obajana unit of the company shall now be 10.25 million metric tonnes per annum, adding that when the fourth cement line is completed in 2014,it would be one of the largest in the world.

The additional 5.25 million tonne a year line at Obajana brings Dangote Cement, Nigeria’s biggest listed company, a step closer to its official target of producing 50 million tonnes of cement across Africa by 2015. Dangote, ranked Africa’s richest man in Forbes’ 2012 list of World Billionaires, said the additional capacity at the plant in Kogi State, raises his firm’s total production capacity in Nigeria to 28 million tonnes.

Come to think of it that though the company is in kogi state, he does nt pay tax to the state govt, the road to his company bad and there is no electricity in Obajana. Above all, cement is very costly in kogi state, compared to other part of Nigeria
