UPDATE 1: A Nigerian army spokesperson has confirmed that a bomb exploded between Dankande and Maraban Jos villages along Kaduna-Zaria expressway in Kaduna state.
Colonel Sani Usman of the Nigerian Army 1st Division in Kaduna told reporters that one person was injured in the blast. He also confirmed that the army has condoned off the area and began full investigations to unravel the cause of the explosion.
A source told PM News that the bomb was targeted at an army convoy moving from Kaduna to Zaria for official duty with some senior army officers on board.
It added that it was a time bomb that was used this time by the bombers suspected to be Boko Haram members.
According to him, “We are becoming suspicious and confused how time bombs got into this country”.
