Yinka Ayefele’s Fresh FM Radio Station To Begin Operation Soon

Yinka Ayefele Renowned gospel music artiste, Yinka Ayefele, on Wednesday said his radio station would soon begin full operation.

Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria at the Ayefele Music House in Ibadan, the musician said the station, to be known as Fresh FM, was already on the internet.

Ayefele said he was only awaiting the release of the operating licence and frequency allocation by the National Broadcasting Commission.

“Fresh FM is in full operation online. The frequency allocations for local operation are controlled by the NBC.
“Until our application for full local operation is approved by the NBC and the Presidency, we just have to make do with the internet radio.

“However, if our licence is granted today, I assure you that we are ready to begin full operations as we have met all conditions.
“My online station is self-sponsored and has the target of reaching out to Nigerians in the Diaspora by carrying them along and feeding them on what is happening back home,” he stated.

Ayefele added that the online station could be accessed on www.ayefelefreshfm.mobi.
He also said the Ayefele Foundation for the Less Privileged was aimed at assisting the underprivileged and physically challenged.
“Most times, I do not like speaking on what I do to help others; however, I have a charity organisation called AFLP and an NGO for the aged and widows.

“They are my own way of paying back and appreciating God in my life. Also, through my music, I help in disseminating the gospel while putting smiles on people’s faces,” he added.

Speaking on the commercialisation of gospel music, Ayefele said music should always be people-oriented and trendy.

“Gospel musicians need to keep up with global trends. If your music is too serious, nobody will listen to you.

“People want to dance, they need to cheer up. That is what I work on, the big beats, lyrics and message.

“This is what others are also doing to keep up with current trends,” he said.

He advised the physically challenged to always look inwards and not despair in the face of crisis, citing mental strength and talent as tools for achieving greatness.

“Everybody is blessed with a unique talent that has nothing to do with a person’s social background or status.
“Greatness belongs only to the discerning at heart. It is always in the mind, because here lies our true strength,” he said.
