He gave the assurance while receiving a five-man delegation from Ghana.
The delegation, which was led by Hon. Alhaji Muhammad Mumuni, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, brought a special message from President Mahama.
According to Nigeria’s president, “We will continue to consult on bilateral, regional, continental and global issues.”
President Jonathan also recalled the shock and sadness he felt when the death of President John Atta-Mills was announced last week.
‘I was shocked and sad when I heard of the passing away of my brother, President John Atta-Mills, “he stated.
He also assured the people of Ghana that Nigeria would be represented at the funeral, saying an official delegation would be sent to convey the country’s condolence before the burial.
Earlier, Mumuni, had delivered a special message from President Mahama and expressed appreciation for the concern and love shown to Ghana by President Jonathan and the people of Nigeria at this time of sorrow.
Mumuni stated the purpose of the visit saying the delegation was in Nigeria at the order of the President of the Republic of Ghana and also to formally announce the untimely death of his brother and colleague, and also to announce the funeral arrangements that are being made and invite him to the funeral.
