Gunmen Kidnap Rep’s Mother in Ogun

Gunmen Six gunmen on Monday kidnapped the mother of the House of Representatives member representing Ijebu North, Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, Abiodun Abudu Balogun.

Report says that the victim, Alhaja Obedatu Abudu Balogun, was abducted at about 9:30 p.m. at her residence in Ita-Otu in the Ijebu-Water Side Local Government Area of the state.

Reacting to the incident, Balogun who is the Deputy Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Internal Security, confirmed the abduction in a telephone interview with reporters in Ijebu-Ode.

The lawmaker described the incident as too painful for him to bear.

Balogun said that what himself and the entire members of the family needed was prayers on how the woman would return safely.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, Mr Muyiwa Adejobi, said the command was yet to be informed about the incident.

Adejobi assured, however, that the police would swing into action immediately details of the abduction were reported to the command.
