The Joint Task Force in Maiduguri the Borno state capital on Wednesday said it killed three Boko Haram members and arrested 31 suspected members in a gun battle between the terrorist group and security forces in Maiduguri.
The Task Force added that it also recovered arms and ammunition.
The spokesman of the JTF, Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa, in a statement today said the Task Force carried out a search operation at Bulabulin Ganram area of Maiduguri Metropolis and witnessed a severe resistance from the insurgents. One soldier was lost, one injured and 31 suspects were arrested during the offensive on Tuesday.
The statement reads: “In an exchange of fire, one soldier was killed, one injured and one immigration personnel missing in action.”
“Three Boko Haram terrorists were killed, 31 suspected Boko Haram terrorists were arrested, one AK-47 rifle, one G3 rifle and some quantity of assorted magazines and ammunitions were recovered.”
