Stray bullet from JTF, Boko Haram gun battle hit University of Maiduguri student

Boko Haram The Joint Task Force (JTF), has confirmed that a University of Maiduguri student was left injured after a gun battle with Boko Haram militants at Gwange, Borno State.

In a statement, JTF’s spokesman, Lieutenant Col. Sagir Musa, said the incident happened on January 4 at about 5.50am, after terrorists attacked a JTF location.

The statement read: “During an exchange of fire, a taxi was caught in the cross fire; unfortunately a stray bullet hit one of the passengers who is alleged to be a student of University of Maiduguri. The injured student in the taxi was escorted to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital where he is receiving medical attention and responding to treatment.”
