Acting Provost indicted for mismanaging N43million

Nigeria Police THE Acting Provost, Kwara state College of Education, Ilorin, Dr. Ishola Ibrahim, has been indicted for mismanaging the sum of N43million.

An investigation committee has been set up by the Kwara state government to look and recommended appropriately.

Dr. Ibrahim was indicted alongside the college Acting Dean of Student Affair, Mr.S.A.Oniyangi, leading to their one month suspension. Dr.Ibrahim, who has been overseeing the College in acting capacity for over two years, thus promoting the panel to recommend an urgent solution to the abnormality.

According to the Panel’s white paper, which covers the College law, governance and management, the acting Provost was suspended for his inability “to control the accounting system of the school, dividing the management due to inexperience, wrangling among the staff due to his inability to control the school, general breaking down of the entire system, contract awarding not in accordance to ethical process,”among others.

The report recommended, among others, that the acting Provost and Director Student Affairs be “sanctioned according to the existing rules and regulations guiding breaches in due process as regards collection of monies on behalf of the College,”which was accepted by the government.

Reacting to the development,the College Chairman,Governing Council,Engineer Musa Yeketi,confirmed that the duo were indicted by the panel,adding that the post of substantive Provost had been advertised as recommended by the panel and that interested candidates had been forwarding their application.
