Nigerian striker, Peter Odemwingie made a return to the West Bromwich Albion on Saturday as the Baggies defeated Sunderland 2-1 in the Barclyas English Premier League.
The forward was greeted by a chorus of boos from the WBA fans who displayed their resentment to his decision to force a move to basement club, Queens Park Rangers in January.
Odemwingie’s first involvement was to take a strike at goal but it flashed wide of the post.
That did not impress the fans who continued to boo his every touch.
The former Lokomotiv Moscow man will now have to contemplate consistent hostile reception from the fans that hitherto worshipped his every move.
The 31-year-old has scored five goals for WBA in the Premier League this season, supersport reports.
