Cross River State governor, Liyel Imoke, Friday evening returned to the country after three months stay abroad for undisclosed medical reasons.
Imoke, in November last year, had gone for a medical check-up. He later proceeded on a two-month holiday amid speculations and insinuations about the state of his health.
Cross River State Commissioner for Information, Chief Akin Rickett, said that the governor is not dead as it is being rumoured but is rather undergoing proper medical check-up.
“Imoke is a human being. He is bound to fall sick and recover. The Lord who gave him life and power will continue to protect him against any evil wish,” he said.
