UPDATE 2: Another student of the Lagos State University (LASU), simply identified as Kabiru, was on Sunday night allegedly killed by suspected cultists.
Sources said that Kabiru was shot dead at about 10:00 p.m. at Abeokuta St., Okokomaiko, Lagos.
A 400 level Banking and Finance student of the university and a musician, Damilola Damochie was on Feb. 28 shot dead by suspected cultists at the institution’s main gate.
The sources alleged that the killing of Kabiru was a reprisal to the murder of Damochie.
“There are three main cult groups in LASU. They are Eiye, Buccaneer and Black Axe. Eiye and Buccaneer have lost one member each. The war is between the two groups now.
“Members of on the cult groups were celebrating the death of the opposition group member in a hotel, when police arrested them,’’ a source said.
Contacted, the Lagos State Police Spokesperson, DSP Ngozi Braide, confirmed the death of Kabiru, but did not say if he was a cult member.
Braide also confirmed that more than 20 persons have been arrested over the killing of Damochie.
She noted that the suspects were arrested at Beno Hotel, Isashi, Okokomaiko, Lagos, when the suspects were having a party.
“We are screening the suspects with a view to ascertaining their involvement in the killing of the student-musician. Anyone found to be involved will be prosecuted in court,’’ Braide said.

UPDATE 1: Following the gruesome murder of Damoche by cultists at LASU (Lagos State University) on Thursday, reprisal allegedly took place that evening and reportedly continued till the following day.
By the time the late musician was buried in the early hours of Saturday in Badagry, three more students, believed to be cultists, were allegedly killed in gruesome manner, Tribune reports.
The three corpses could not be identified as of the time of going to the press, the social media were awash with gruesome photographs of corpses said to be those of rival gang members who killed the artiste.
It is believed that one of the dead cultists shot Damoche on Thursday.
But as Olaniyan was being laid to rest, members of the rival cult suspected to have killed him, were threatening more attacks, even after he was buried.
In response to a story carried by The Eagle Online on Friday, a member of the rival cult, who identified himself as ‘Shameful To Be A Nigerian’, said one of Olaniyan’s friends, Alo, who vowed to revenge his killing, would also be killed.
A candlelight procession was later held at 6 p.m in honour of the late singer after the burial.

Just two days after budding hip hop artist, Olaniyan Damilola, popularly known as Damino Damoche, was killed due to his association with campus fraternity in his school, Lagos State University, LASU, unconfirmed report says another student has been murdered again.
He was reportedly shot dead today by suspected cult members.
