Popular Nigerian singer 2Face Idibia and his wife Annie Macualay-Idibia, received another luxurious wedding gift, this time from the President of the Nigerian Senate, David Mark.
on Saturday March 23, the couple were presented a brown Chevrolet Corvette Coupe, estimated to range between $70,000 and $110,000 according to car aficionados.
Earlier this month, the couple were promised is two Prado Jeeps by Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State, where the bride is from. Already the couple have received one of the jeeps.
In addition to the jeep, Governor Akpabio sponsored about 20 people from the couple’s families to the venue of the wedding at the United Arab Emirates, Dubai.
The couple tied the knot in the presence of their family members, friends, well-wishers and their daughter, Isabella.
However, in a statement on Sunday, the Special Adviser on Media & Publicity to the President of the Senate David Mark, Kola Ologbondiyan denied the claims.
It reads: “The President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, did not give a N47m Ferrari car to Tuface Idibia contrary to wild stories being circulated on social sites.”
“Senator Mark did not visit Dubai for Tuface wedding rather he attended the 128th Inter parliamentary Union (IPU) conference currently holding in Quito, Ecuador. He was also not represented at Mr. Idibia’s wedding. It is also instructive to state that the President of the Senate, Senator Mark, did not make a car donation of any kind to Tuface before departing Nigeria for Ecuador neither did he purchase nor send any car to Dubai as a wedding gift for the musician or his wife. Who made the donation on behalf of the President of the Senate?”
“It is therefore a puerile lie for anybody to state that Senator Mark bought a Ferrari car worth N47m for Tuface. The allegation is wicked, ridiculous and irresponsible.”
