Former minister of state for works, Senator Isaiah Balat dies

Senator Isaiah Balat Report reaching us says the Special Adviser to the Vice President on Special Duties, Senator saiah Chawai Balat, is dead.

He died Tuesday afternoon in Abuja at the age of 61.

Before his death he served as the Minister of State for Works and Housing from 1999-2000 and also as a Senator representing Kaduna South Local Government from 2003- 2007.

Balat was appointed Minister of State for Works & Housing in the cabinet of President Olusegun Obasanjo in June 1999.

He was also a PDP governorship aspirant in Kaduna State.

He established the Isaiah Balat Foundation, which has the goal of vaccinating over a million people across Kaduna state against Meningitis.
