It stated that two cars, two buses and one jeep were burnt down completely in the incident.

The statement said that the incident occurred around 6.05 a.m. when a tanker loaded with 33,000 litres of petrol was trying to enter the filling station.

It stated that the vehicles on queue did not allow it access to the premises and in the process, an iron punctured the tanker, leading to petrol gushing out and the subsequent fire outbreak.

The statement said that the fire was brought under control with fire fighting tankers from the State Fire Service, Federal Fire Service, and the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria.

The NEMA Information Officer, Ibrahim Farinloye, said that the PHCN pole fell on the person because of the fire which affected the pole.
