Two bomb explosions Saturday evening went off at Yerwa Government secondary school in Maiduguri, which hosts thousands of internal displaced persons from Bama.
The incident occurred few meters from the headquarters of the State Security Services (SSS).
“Two improvised bombs were found in Yerwa primary school IDP camp by the people who notified soldiers stationed nearby,” local vigilante Ari Butari said.
“The soldiers asked people to evacuate before shooting the bombs from a distance, triggering two explosions that didn’t harm anyone,” he said.
This is the third attack in the town in one week.
Last Saturday, the explosions that rocked different parts of Maiduguri claimed over 100 lives. There was also another attack on a crowded market on Tuesday.
