The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a daughter, Kensington Palace has announced.
Catherine gave birth to the baby girl at the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington at 8.34am this morning. A name has not yet been announced.
Kensington Palace said the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the royal family are “delighted” at the birth and released the following statement:
“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a daughter at 8.34am.
“The baby weighs 8lbs 3oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.
“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.
“Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”
The couple’s first child, Prince George Alexander Louis, was born at the same hospital on July 22, 2013, weighing 8lb 6oz.
